Seattle Parks and Recreation Announces Veterans Day Closures for November 11, 2026
Seattle residents planning to visit parks, recreation centers or swimming pools should check holiday schedules ahead of Veterans Day. Seattle Parks and Recreation will close several facilities and suspend recreation programs on Wednesday, November 11, 2026, in observance of the federal holiday.
The closures will affect community centers, Teen Life Centers, indoor swimming pools and select specialized recreation facilities. Some outdoor spaces and visitor attractions, however, will remain open under regular or modified schedules.

The following Seattle Parks and Recreation facilities and services will be closed on Wednesday, November 11:
- All recreation programs
- Community centers and Teen Life Centers
- Indoor swimming pools
- Green Lake Small Craft Center
- Mount Baker Rowing and Sailing Center
Residents who regularly use these facilities should plan ahead and check for schedule changes before making a trip.
Parks and Other Facilities Remaining Open
Several parks, attractions and recreational facilities will remain open on Veterans Day, although some may operate on modified schedules.
The following locations and services are expected to be available:
- Parks: Open
- Boat ramps: Open
- Amy Yee Tennis Center: Facility open, but programs closed
- Volunteer Park Conservatory: Open
- Seattle Japanese Garden: Open
- Golf courses and ranges: Open
Visitors should confirm individual facility hours before heading out, particularly where modified holiday schedules may apply.
Plan Ahead for the November 11 Holiday
The Veterans Day schedule affects a range of Seattle Parks and Recreation services, but residents will still have opportunities to enjoy outdoor spaces, visit select attractions and use certain recreational facilities.
Anyone planning a workout, swimming session, class or community center visit should make alternative arrangements for Wednesday, November 11.
Seattle Parks and Recreation announced the holiday schedule on November 3, 2026. Residents can use the department's updates to plan their activities and avoid arriving at a closed facility.
